CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Research & Development company with offices in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and commercially aware Vice President of Business Development to join their team. The successful applicant will have very extensive and relevant professional experience and be willing/able to travel extensively abroad as part of the role.

 

Role Overview:
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the full cycle of company sales & marketing plans by playing the key role in building, maintaining and expanding successful relationships with both existing and new clients. He/she will be actively participating in identifying new business opportunities with existing or new clients, understanding clients’ needs, proposing possible solutions and ideas together with the company’s technical experts, presenting client proposals and closing sales to assure business growth. The successful candidate will also need to represent the company at seminars and other industry-related networking events. The position reports to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • 15+ years of working experience out of which at least 4 years of Business Development and/or Sales Management.
  • Working experience within the hi-tech industry will be considered an advantage.
  • BA in Business Administration and/or Engineering or a relevant field.
  • MBA will be considered a plus.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Proficiency in English language - verbal & written.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or any other language will be considered an advantage.
  • A strong customer focus and ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, and communication.
  • Proven track record of success on business development or sales on an international scale.
  • Commercial drive and excellent networking skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into results.
  • Excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven ability in working with a geographically and culturally diverse clientele.
  • Strong track record of achieving measurable objectives.
  • Data-driven decision maker with capacity to adapt.
