CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international company operating in the Engineering & Construction field, we are seeking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their growing team based in Larnaca. Working alongside the Managing Director, the successful applicant will oversee the smooth running of the Finance function of the Company, including supporting and mentoring less experienced team members. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field and possess approximately 5+ years of experience in relevant role. Any professional accounting qualifications/certifications will be considered an advantage and prior experience working in the Engineering & Construction sectors will be considered highly advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek & English are a must.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review and validation of journal/accounting entries ensuring that all supporting documents and approvals are in place and complete and in accordance with the company policies.
  • Review and validation of payments (cheques & transfers).
  • Review and validation of purchase orders ensuring proper approvals and documentations.
  • Involvement in the tendering and procurement process.
  • Review of suppliers’ reconciliations and ensuring all unreconciled items are resolved promptly.
  • Regular supplier database management and additions of new ones and ensuring that all details are captured in the system.
  • Communicate with relevant departments on a regular basis the payment terms of outstanding invoices due for payment to ensure payment are made on time.
  • Review of customers reconciliations and ensuring the unreconciled items are resolved promptly.
  • Correspondence with the collection team on defaulted customers and collections issues.
  • Review of balance sheets accounts receivable accounts reconciliation and ensure clearance/resolution of outstanding open items.
  • Preparation of cashflow forecasting and weekly reporting.
  • Review of monthly bank reconciliation and ensuring all open items are resolved promptly.
  • Custody of bank guarantees received from suppliers.
  • Monthly intercompany reconciliations and preparation of debit/credit notes if required, including Matrix preparation.
  • Review of intercompany accounts reconciliation and ensure resolution of outstanding open items on a timely manner.
  • Preparation of monthly management reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis on the financial statements and accounts.
  • Prepare adhoc reports and presentations requested by Management.
  • Preparation and review of budget vs. actual analysis and report exceptions.
  • Review payroll journal entries.
  • Review of petty cash and cash related entries.
  • Ensure all cash collection are deposited regularly in the respective bank accounts.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Any professional accounting certification/qualification will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • 5+ years of proven accounting experience in a relevant role is essential.
  • Previous accounting experience from the Engineering & Construction industry will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are a must.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently, with ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of commitment with a drive to deliver results.
  • Ability to use MS Office to a high standard is a must.
  • Team player with very good interpersonal skills.
