Almond Recruitment, on behalf of our client, an international wholesale trading company have a fantastic opportunity for a Russian speaking Senior Accountant to join their office in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting of two companies within the group: a B2B wholesale company and B2C retail company. Responsibilities

  • Recording day to day financial transactions
  • Verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Track and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Full reconciliations of supplier and customer ledgers with available reports in a timely manner
  • Bringing the books to the trial balance stage
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information
  • Close cooperation and coordination with external auditors, banks and other business partners
  • Assisting the external auditors with audit requests, preparation of various audit schedules and resolving any issues identified during the testing procedures
  • Completion and submission of all necessary tax forms (VAT, VIES, OSS, Payroll and Social Insurance, SDC etc.) and ensuring compliance with governmental legal and tax requirements
  • Defining bookkeeping and accounting policies and procedures
  • Creation, verification and controlling of all payments and payment schedules of the companies
  • Processing financial transactions (withdrawals, transfers, deposits)
  • Posting deposits (credit card, wires, online checks, bank checks)
  • Petty Cash
  • Daily reconciliation of bank and cash balances
  • Responding to suppliers/customers' payment inquiries and resolving their pending cases
  • Issuance of all company invoices and formation of all necessary registers
  • Prepare employee salary statements and process paychecks
  • Prepare all necessary stock sale/purchase documentation and full stock reconciliation
  • Conducts periodic physical stock take on the Company’s assets
  • Liaising with several departments and solving the various issues that arise during the daily operations
  • Assistance with management reports
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Manager related to the professional capacity

Requirements

  • University graduate in BA Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Qualified or partly qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Strong knowledge of Cypriot laws and regulations to comply with reporting requirements
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional manner and a strong ethical code
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
  • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately
  • Fluent Russian and English languages are a must
  • Greek language is an advantage
