CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established and expanding Electronic Money Institution, licensed by the Central Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will work closely with the Accounting Manager & Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of the company’s finance function. You will ideally hold an academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or a similar field and holders of the ACA/ACCA/CPA are encouraged to apply. You should possess approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience and applicants from Top 4 Audit & Accounting Firms are encouraged to apply. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work closely and report to the Accounting Manager.
• Compilation and submission of the Monthly Trial Balance of the group entities, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure the accounting entries adhere the International Accounting Standards.
• Supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance and support for the daily/monthly reconciliations, bookkeeping and classifications in the accounts.
• Work closely with the Accounting Manager and the Financial Controller for the preparation of the group entities monthly Management Accounts.
• Preparation of monthly Actual Cashflow vs Forecasts report.
• Continuously review, recommend and implement improvements / enhancements to accounting and reporting procedures.
• To monitor and record revenue and expenses and to timely raise any red flags.
• Constantly monitor the performance of reporting staff and manage, motivate and train them to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of performance.
• Prepare/Review the monthly regulatory reports.
• Assist/coordinate with the Accounting Manager and the Financial Controller for the annual external and internal audits.
• Ensure all the required finance and administration files are maintained.

Key Skills/Experience:

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance or a professional qualification (ACCA/ACA).
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a similar role is a must.
• Experienced of working in a Top 4 Accounting & Audit Firm is highly desirable.
• Good interpretation and understanding of financial data.
• Team player (communication and interpersonal skills).
• Audit background will be considered as a strong advantage.
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Experience completing a group consolidation will be considered as a strong advantage.
• Banking and international experience will be considered as a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in English (both written and oral).
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure – daily/weekly/monthly deadlines.
