THE POSITION

We seek to recruit a Genetic Counsellor with positive attitude to join our diverse team. The successful candidate will join the Clinical Services department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interview patients to get comprehensive individual family and medical histories
• Evaluate genetic information to identify patients or families at risk for specific genetic disorders
• Write detailed consultation reports to provide information on complex genetic concepts for patients, families, and other healthcare providers
• Counsel patients and family members by providing information, education, or reassurance regarding genetic risks and inherited conditions
• Provide assistance to referring health professionals in regards to their patient’s reports
• Patient and/or provider follow-up as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited genetic counseling training program is required
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Ability to be proactive, plan, and prioritize tasks across multiple projects
• Ability to work with the team as well as independently
• Ability to communicate information effectively
• Proficiency in English language
