The Role

The successful candidates will be part of a newly established team in Cyprus, which will support the International Accounting and Reporting Services Team of the Deloitte Global Tax Centre Europe BV/SRL (based in Belgium). Key activities and responsibilities of the role include:

• Working on a series of international engagements covering EMEA & Belgian subsidiaries of corporates and international non-for-profit organizations.
• Providing accounting, reporting and tax compliance services
• Being accountable for deadlines and quality & risk standards
• Additionally, those joining us at the level of Senior/Supervising Senior will be acting as the day-to-day contact with clients on operational matters; being the first point of contact for our junior team members; sharing best practices with team members; developing and coaching junior members

In this role, the successful candidates will work as part of existing industry-specific client service teams in Belgium, and will be expected to act as individual contributors, delivering high quality work with guidance from management team members.

Requirements

For all positions

• Undergraduate degree from a reputable University in Accounting or related fields
• Critical and analytical mind backed with a natural sense for accuracy and continues eagerness to learn
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer literacy and strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written

For experienced Accountants

• 2-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting firm
• Solid local GAAP (e.g. IFRS) experience
• Other GAAP experience (i.e. US) will be considered as an advantage
• Tax and VAT compliance knowledge will be considered as an advantage
