CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus' most well-known and highly respected Banking Institutions with Head Offices in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a highly capable and experienced Middle Officer to join their expanding team of professionals on a fixed-term 12 month contract.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Works closely with Relationship Managers for providing efficient and quality service to the client.
  • Executes account opening procedure, makes necessary checks as per AML and KYC policies, deals with daily client requests, validates and updates client information.
  • Responds efficiently to clients’ daily requests for accounts statements, balances etc.
  • Responds effectively to client requests for inward and outward payment transactions and handles FX requests in accordance with Bank’s policy.
  • Responsible for cheque-related issues: chequebook orders, cheque deposits, stop payment, held cheques, cheque returns and cheque images. When necessary communicates with the client on covering excesses, cheque clearing and cheque returns.
  • Responsible for renewal, creation and breaking of deposits.
  • Responsible for the gathering of all necessary documents and preparation of all necessary forms for the opening of new accounts.
  • Has responsibility for data and document validation, i.e. for any changes regarding signatories, addresses (borrowers, guarantors, directors, and security providers), telephone numbers and e-mails. Completes any necessary forms, gathers the appropriate documents and makes the necessary checks and updates the bank systems accordingly.
  • Proceeds with closure, freezing and unfreezing of client accounts following appropriate approvals.
  • Maintains, prepares and verifies all the products of the clients’ in the core banking system of the bank and its peripherals.
  • Prepares audit letters for banking clients.
  • Assists clients with E-banking service and ensures that the E-banking procedure is properly completed.
  • Carries out yearly review of client files to ensure updating of client profile and documentation as per the Bank’s AML and KYC procedures.
  • Prepares client letters under Arrears Management directive, renewal letters, letters for interest rate amendments and reference letters and forwards them to CRO for checking and signing.
  • Prepares credit commitment letters according to approved loan terms and conditions and liaises with the Loans Administration department for timely preparation of loan documentation.
  • Preparation of Pre-contractual information documents.
  • Sends client notifications for the expiry of insurance policies and ensures their proper renewal as per the approved terms of the facility.
  • Puts forward requests for searches in Artemis, Infocredit, Ariadne, CIR, Land Registry and for property valuations.
  • Prepares procedural memorandums for approval, i.e. memo for special charges, waive of charges, High Risk clients, current accounts to be transferred to other departments.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University Degree in a Business related subject (Banking, Finance, Administration etc.).
  • Previous, relevant banking experience is required and essential.
  • Pro-active with strong organizational skills; multitasking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong command of written and spoken Greek and English is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional and confident.
